About Dr. Curtis:

As a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Curtis has helped develop a strong bariatric surgery care program in Nebraska.

“Our bariatric weight loss program was developed in 2010 and serves 20 counties,” said Dr. Brendon Curtis, “We have achieved exceptional outcomes with an ever expanding program and multi-disciplinary team.”

Dr. Curtis has always believed the relationship between doctor and patient contributes significantly to the quality of care delivered and received and has built his practice on this fundamental belief.

Hobbies & Interests:

Dr. Curtis enjoys traveling, playing volleyball and listening to audio books.

Interesting Fact:

In 2008 Dr. Curtis participated in the Gold Humanism Honor Society at Wayne State University.

Undergraduate School:

Dr. Curtis obtained his Associate of Arts in Biology and Chemistry with honors in 1991 at the College of Bahamas. He then went and completed with honors his Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry in 1994 at University of the West Indies in Jamaica.

Graduate Work:

Dr. Curtis completed his MBBS at the University of West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center in Detroit. Dr. Curtis graduated with the Surgical Leadership Award.

Dr. Curtis has previously held the position of Senior House Officer in the Department of Surgery at Public Hospital Authority in Nassau, Bahamas.

Following General Surgical Training, Dr. Curtis was successful in obtaining his fellowship in Advance Laparoscopy and Bariatrics in September of 2009 through July 2010.
From 2010 Dr. Curtis has continued to hold the position of Bariatric Director and Vice Chairman of Surgical committee at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, North Platte, Nebraska.

Dr. Curtis is certified with Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery, American Board of surgery, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. In 2011 Dr. Curtis was the co-author of an article titled “Combined Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Approach to a Gastroesophageal Tumor” Journal of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons/Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
